Two men and one woman were put to death under Federal jurisdiction and 8 men were executed in 5 states during 2021.
All died by lethal injection down from 16 men executed under Federal jurisdiction and in 5 states during 2021.
Texas carried out 3 executions, Alabama 1, Missouri 1, Mississippi 1 and Oklahoma 2 in 2021.
All executions are carried out for 1st degree murder and are by lethal injection unless otherwise indicated after the prisoner’s name.
